Raising
the awareness about the
importance of play in early childhood development, is the key
foundation of PlayMatters. With our busy lives and our children in so
many structured activity such as ballet, soccer, other group
activities, and adult guided activities it can be easy to forget the
importance of free play.
Free play
is a child's main job. Play is so crucial for cognitive, gross and
fine motor, and social/emotional development. PlayMatters, preschool
free play setting, provides a place
for children to try on new and different 'hats' and experiment with
these concepts in a
safe, nurturing environment. At PlayMatters, we offer children a place
to just play, in a structured setting that will allow them to learn new
skills as they play dress-up, explore new art materials, sing and read
books, build with the Lego table, or cook you a fabulous meal in the
kitchen area. These activities
are great aspect of childhood for team building, self confidence building, and
more.
Each play center is geared to help children develop an understanding of the
world around them and their place in it, as they explore new concepts and acquire new skills.
Here at PlayMatters, our goal is to create an atmosphere
that fosters the innate ability of all children to learn. We have designed a space that children feel
comfortable to explore and interact in.
We are committed to supporting the development of both
children and the adults who care for them.Parent education, through resource sharing and community programming, is
a key component of the work we do at PlayMatters.
This
is why we play, "because it's more than just play" it is a job,
learning, developing, and so much more and we can't expect children to
learn these things any other way.
Where will your child's new discoveries take them?
